EVENT INFORMATION

AZ ASSIST is a community of families of teens and young adults on the autism spectrum where self-advocacy and independence are promoted and encouraged.

We allow time for parents to connect with each other before and after the speaker each month. Come and meet other parents who also have older youth on the spectrum and learn from a speaker on transition topics as well.

We have a great group of autistic adults who mentor our youth and a variety of professionals who generously share their time and expertise. Monthly meetings to explore transition issues, as well as social events in the community, provide opportunities for parents and youth to establish a community of support. Join us as we learn about transition, share our experiences, celebrate our successes and support each other on the journey to independence.

We invite and encourage our teens & young adults to join us to socialize, make new friends and hang out. It’s a great time to connect! There is a $5 activity fee for each teen/young adult per meeting. Parents are free and meet in a separate room with a speaker. Come visit one of our meetings and check it out!

We have also added a VIP (Very Informed Participant) Group to our East Valley meetings for those on the spectrum ages 24+ to gather, discuss, ocassionally have guest speakers, and connect with those older. Come and see what it is all about!
