Archaeology aficionados of all ages will have the opportunity to witness preservation techniques on the prehistoric platform mound, participate in a simulated archaeological dig, and do hands-on crafts inspired by archaeology and southwestern cultures.

Visitors can also attend a free lecture at noon presented by archaeologist and author Dr. Glen Rice on the “Altruism in Food Sharing Among the 19th Century O’Odham”.

Interpretive stations throughout the archaeological site, and artifact show and tell stations will also be available during the day. And don’t forget to grab a piece of delicious frybread for lunch from the Yellowman Frybread food truck! All IAD activities are included with Museum admission.
