Ostrich Festival Kickoff Weekend feat. Mayor’s 5K, Parade +more!

EVENT INFORMATION

The day of events will kick off with the annual Mayor’s 5K Fun Run and youth run. The youth 1.5 mile run will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the Mayor’s 5K Fun Run beginning at 8:15 a.m. At 10 a.m., the Ostrich Festival Parade will make its way down Arizona Avenue beginning at Ray Road and ending at Chicago Street. This annual event will feature approximately 100 entries including floats, dignitaries, pageant winners, horses, dance teams, the new Ostrich Festival mascot and the stars of the show, Chandler High School Head Football Coach, Shaun Aguano, FOX 10 News personality, Marcy Jones and the official Arizona Diamondbacks mascot, Baxter as the Grand Marshals.

The Public Safety Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chandler Police Department located at 250 E. Chicago Street. The event will include police and fire displays, the K-9 unit, tactical robot, S.W.A.T., rappelling and fire rescue demos, as well as free child fingerprinting, face painting and more. McGruff the crime dog will also be in attendance to greet children.

The 15th Annual Chandler Classic Car Show will take place at the same time and location and will feature classic cars and hot rods. There will also be plenty of family-friendly activities and food offerings.
