You can explore the outdoors for free or very cheap with the family in Arizona! Follow the tips and ideas below and enjoy the gorgeous weather in Phoenix and the rest of Arizona during Spring Break.



Here are some fun and free ideas to have a FUN AND CHEAP SPRING BREAK IN ARIZONA.

  1. Picnic & Play

    Plan a day for a picnic and visit a new and fun park.  There are lots of new park with nice playground equipment in the Phoenix Area. Kids love new experiences.  Bring along some fun food and enjoy!  Try these parks:

          • Desert Sky Park
          • Desert Breeze
          • Tempe Beach Park
          • Deer Valley Park
          • Papago Park

  2. Enjoy the outdoors hiking

    Plan a fun and active day by going hiking.  Phoenix has so many hiking trails that are so enjoyable in the beautiful springtime weather.  You can enjoy a hike in any of these Phoenix natural attractions:

    • Superstition Mountains,

    • South Mountain,

    • North Mountain

    • White Tank Mountain and many others. 

  3. Go fishing!

    Explore Northern Arizona on a day trip. There so many beautiful forests and mountains to hike, to climb and lakes to go fishing.  Kids will enjoy being out in nature.  If you want a trip no longer than a couple of hours or less: visit Payson or Prescott.  Further North is cooler but travel time increases.

  4. Explore Historic Southern Arizona

    Many people forget there are some fun places to explore south of Phoenix.  Although not as shady as Northern Arizona, if you plan a day trip to Tucson and beyond, you will be surprised at all there is to see.  Visit the city of Tucson and hike Mount Lemon or go further south and explore a historic mission.  Kids will have a blast.
